What is a /now page?

A /now page is about what someone is currently focused on and working toward. Think of it like what you’d say to a friend you haven’t seen in a year — a snapshot of what matters most right now.

Unlike social media updates or blog posts, a /now page focuses on the bigger picture rather than day-to-day highlights. It also contrasts with an /about page, which is more static and background-focused. If you want to learn more, check out nownownow.com/about.

So, what’s happening in my life right now?

Since finishing my degree in October 2024, I’ve mostly been doing two things: traveling and applying for jobs.

In November and December, I visited friends across Germany and took part in several debating contests. Since January, I’ve been traveling through East Asia (South Korea and Japan) and Oceania (New Zealand and Australia). I’ve also been planning to write some blog posts about my small adventures along the way.

Discovering new countries is really fun and interesting, especially when connecting with people living there. For me, it is exciting to see how life can be so different and at the same time so similar to ours. For example, there is a strong emphasis on formality and perfectionism in Japan. At the same time, everyday life is not so different from that in Germany. Or take New Zealand, where I entered “the new world” for the first time: it is so interesting to see how cities look when they are designed from the ground up, without existing dependencies. Or Australia, where social life and activities happen in the morning instead of in the evening!

But I also realise that I am very thankful to live in a modern European country, and that it’s easy to take all the nice things there for granted. After travelling for some time, I really look forward to coming home again and living a consistent, “boring” life once more.

While travelling, I’m trying to revive some routines and sort out boring-but-important life admin - things like insurance, financials, my website, and my portfolio - all while continuing to apply for jobs.

My goal is to land a role in cybersecurity. Worst case? I become a surf teacher in Bali. (I just need to learn how to surf first.)
